The most important thing we put on every day

In our day and age of supermodels and glamorous living, of which guys and gals take equal billing, it is not enough to have fine clothing. You must learn to accessorize well. Then you must learn to stink well or is that smell good! All the adornments that I have mentioned may make outside the body look beautiful. Do we understand what we are entangling ourselves with when we participate in this game?

As a dear friend once told me “Beauty is only skin deep. But, ugly, it goes clear to the bone.” When he told me the statement I had no idea what he was talking about! Experience has taught me that the statement is true 100% of the time. But seldom do I ever know until I get danger close if a person is truly ugly or not.

The longer I walk with the Lord Jesus I find that the price to be paid to walk with him no matter how seemingly high by earth standards, it might be, is a bargain. I give so little/less than nothing, to him to work with, then he gives of his abundance in spirit to my spirit. For this I am glad because I continued to walk not because of monetary reward but because of the desire to know God better and richness of Spirit shared and developed.

With what I have experienced I would encourage each and every one of you to walk with the Lord. It is the most rewarding and curious thing I’ve ever done. Rewarding because I see something working in me that is nobler than I am or ever will be. Curious because, I am always surprised by things that are coming out of me both good and bad, and I have to navigate life with both in tow all the time!

Romans states it this way: Romans 13:14 English Standard Version
14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

So! Put on the Lord! The Lord is the most important part of your wardrobe as you prepare for the day. When you are dressed in God, he is making you beautiful, but he’s making the outward appearance beautiful and inward or to the bone. It is said that even the feet of those that carry the word of God are beautiful!

Self-control is a fruit of the spirit! So as we put on, or adorn ourselves with Jesus Christ and live his way not judging but serving the light/gospel that saved us. We take on the life of a servant and a life of denial, never being denied what we need to serve, but of desires we have that would somehow damage or impede us. Only God knows the answer to the things that would really hurt us, LISTEN. However! It is not bad to dream of a better state in this life or to find yourself giving up something you acquired for something better.

It is always bad to desire anything more than God. This is how I would define as sin. In fact desiring or putting anything above God in your life is in fact pure sin. Doing good or doing bad might be some of the definition of what sin can be. But both good and bad can be sinful in God’s eyes if either one becomes more important than our Lord is. God and God alone is Lord!

How can you know what sin enslaves? To which activity do you dedicate most of your time? Do you spend a lot of time pursuing after the Lord our God? Which scenario would hurt you more deeply time with the thing being taking away or your time with God being taken away?

If we choose, and we do have to choose, to serve God and put his life in front of ours and worship him as a holy God this will put us in a position of seeing how much he loves us. God the father did put his On the Cross to Pay for All of Our Sins. Why Then Would God Desire for Any of Us to Continue Suffering Trying to Pay for Our Own Sins by putting ourselves in painful situations?

God gave us His Son that we could put on the wardrobe of Jesus Christ which is of true beauty as worn in humility, grace, and truth. Sin the ugly one came into the world by one; there is one sacrifice that satisfies the penalty of sin through Christ Jesus.

Romans10:15-17, Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All:
…15And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying, 16″THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART, AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM,” He then says, 17″AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.”

This is the reason this is the good news of Jesus Christ also known as the gospel of Jesus Christ is so good yet, undeserved. God in his infinite wisdom entered into a unilateral covenant with man. When the promise was made God alone walked between the sacrificed animals. The promise was made to all people to one human man, who was not allowed to a company the Lord, when Love/the Lord walked alone between the sacrificed animals to seal the covenant made by God to man. This made it a unilateral action on God’s part and plan. God fully understood we could never keep our side of the covenant.

All mankind has the opportunity to take advantage of this covenant. This is The offer of Eternal Life through The Work of Jesus to live forever in Heaven, the greatest adventure in all eternity. Yet we still choose to go our own way after having something this fabulous offered to us. For a better feel of what God is doing, read your Bible for yourself and always ask for God’s help to understand.

This from the MSG Bible: Romans 13:
11-14 But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the salvation work he began when we first believed. We can’t afford to waste a minute, must not squander these precious daylight hours in frivolity and indulgence, in sleeping around and dissipation, in bickering and grabbing everything in sight. Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!
